Turn an environment request into a repeatable workflow
Agree the resources a team needs, the owner, the budget, and the access rules. Use that definition to evaluate environment setup instead of repeating the same handoffs for every department.
Keep changes visible
Review intended configuration alongside actual state. An evaluation can examine how changes are proposed, approved, applied, and identified when an environment diverges from its intended settings. Agree which corrective actions require a person to approve them.
Retire environments deliberately
A completed project should have an offboarding path: identify resources to remove, data to retain, access to revoke, and ownership of the final review. Destructive changes and retention decisions remain subject to your agreed policies.
Example evaluation
Choose one non-production environment. Document its existing setup process, repeat the agreed workflow, inspect a configuration change, and review the retirement checklist. Compare manual handoffs and evidence of completion with the starting process.
